Waffles was diagnosed with bilateral medial and lateral luxating patellas. During her surgical repair the orthopedic surgeon discovered bilateral acl tears. Bilateral TPLO was offered but after working with Dr. Gaynor as his veterinary technician I opted to harvest stem cells during the surgery for stifle injections. Because waffles is so little her cells were cultured to create adequate injections. Her stifles were both injected which resulted in repair of her cruciate tears preventing her from needing TPLOs. We have followed up with IV injections to help her with generalized arthritis from age and she has done great.
