Vader - Full and Partial Cruciate Ligament Tears

Image of Dog & Cat

Description: Vader, an almost 3yr old 115 lb. cane corso ruptured his left CrCL while being a dog chasing a ball. Upon examination it was found the right CrCL had a partial tear. Vader had TPLO surgery to correct the complete rupture in his left knee. We were told he had an 80% chance of blowing out the right knee within a yr after surgery. We were devastated as he was so young and full of energy. We hike daily and we couldn't imagine him not being an active dog. Our amazing vet, who happens to have a sibling of Vader recommended we do stem cell injections to help prevent the other crCl from rupture. We agreed to do what ever it took to make sure our boy had a good quality of life. Comments: Since my vet was able to get the most stem cells he has ever got from a dog (Vader holds the record at Westside Animal Hospital for most cells recovered) we elected to inject both legs 1x per year. Vader has had 3 injections now and is running around and jumping like he does not have a plate and 8 screws in his knee. The right is showing no signs of injury. We are amazed at how well he is doing and give all the credit to stem cell injections.
