Description: Our dog Auggie is a stem cell rock star. We adopted him six years ago, and as his third home, we gave him lots of time to settle in and bond with our two Newfoundlands. He started panting and looking uncomfortable after a few months, and we noticed that he was struggling to make it around the block on walks. We made an appointment with a specialist to get him checked out, and that is where we found out that he had severe hip dysplasia, and would need treatment on both hips. While we do not know how this happened to him, it is possible that he may have been injured as a puppy or faced malnutrition before joining our pack. We were excited to know that we could treat both hips and bank enough stem cells to last through his lifetime.
