2018-02-01 -- "Current literature suggests that the combination of stem cells and platelet therapy are synergistic, in particular in reference to chondrogenesis. In such severe cases where instability, infection, or severe trauma is complicating recovery, the use of cell therapy combined with platelet therapy may be indicated. In this case of septic OA of the stifle, the patient was returned from nonweight-bearing status to full use of the limb, avoiding the potential of amputation or full knee replacement surgery."
