Senior Scientist: Stem Cell Biology, Characterization and Potency
The Senior Scientist is responsible for design and implementation of manufacturing processes, new products and services, and qualification materials and tests from concept through validation, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Job Description: The Senior Scientist is responsible for design and implementation of manufacturing processes, new products and services, and qualification materials and tests from concept through validation, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
MS, PhD or equivalent in the biologic sciences, with technical and leadership excellence in mesenchymal stem cell biology, characterization and potency evaluation.
5+ years experience in mammalian tissue culture, mesenchymal stem cell, and regenerative medicine. Proficiency in method development and validation, flow cytometery, molecular and ELISA test platforms.
Strong understanding of GMP requirements, including FDA and EMA. Preference will be given to applicants who have prior experience working in a GMP setting.
Ability to navigate and extract information from the public domain, including but not limited to Pubmed, NCBI.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills. Capable of writing technical validation protocols, reports and specifications, grant applications and maintenance of records.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience in a matrixed-reporting environment.
Leads the research and development of processes for a variety of regenerative medicine product and service projects.
Leads validations through writing of experimental protocol designs, interpretation of interim data, written reports, and validation reports.
Establishes processes, both practical and written, and leads technical transfer to operations or quality control.
Analyzes processes in order to increase yield of product or margin in the early development stages.
Works closely with manufacturing, clinical and quality staff and has excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to organize and motivate staff.
Must have demonstrable computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., as well as skills in data management and analyses.
